Shenandoah recently transported fans back to 1989 with a reimagined release of their classic hit “Sunday In The South,” featuring country superstars Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. 

Now, the star-studded collaboration is coming to life with the release of the official music video featuring Shenandoah, Aldean, and Bryan. 

The newly released video is a recreation of the original and features familiar scenes, including a downtown square, a hometown barbershop, and a cozy coffee shop. 

Filmed in Leipers Fork, Tennessee, just 45 minutes south of Nashville, the clip captures Shenandoah, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan enjoying cups of coffee together inside a café. Like old friends, they share smiles and harmonize on the iconic country classic.

“Mill worker houses lined up in a row/ Another southern Sunday morning blow/ Beneath the steeple all the people have begun/ Shakin’ hands with the man who grips the gospel gun/ While the quiet prayer, the smell of dinner on the ground/ Heals up the morning air, ain’t nothin’ sweeter around/ I can almost hear my mama pray: “Oh lord forgive us when we doubt”/ Another sacred Sunday in the south,” they take turns singing.

This nostalgia-filled collaboration was brought to life at the legendary Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where Shenandoah’s founding members, Raybon and Mike McGuire, began their journey. Drawing from their rich country roots and love for the genre’s golden era, all three artists reimagined the classic hit for a new generation of listeners while preserving its timeless, nostalgic charm.

The updated rendition of “Sunday In The South” was produced by GRAMMY®-winning engineer Noah Gordon, with Luke Bryan’s vocals guided by Jeff and Jody Stevens and Jason Aldean’s vocals overseen by Mickey Jack Cones.

“Having Jason and Luke on this song has certainly been a highlight for us,” Shenandoah frontman Marty Raybon shared. “This song has always ministered to us in such a special way.”

“My earliest memories of ‘Sunday in the South’ is that it was a song that was speaking exactly my life,” Bryan said. “This song shaped the way I thought about music and how I wanted to make music one day.“

 “It’s just always an honor for us to get to work with these guys we grew up listening to,” added Aldean. 

“Sunday In The South” was originally the third single from Shenandoah’s Road Not Taken album. This No. 1 hit remains a staple of their live shows to this day.
