Ashley Cooke filled in for Ella Langley during a surprise duet with Riley Green on Wednesday evening (Dec. 4) at The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia.
The rising star and Green serenaded the audience at the sold-out show with a performance of “Don’t Mind If I Do,” which appears as the title track of Green’s recently released third studio album and originally features Langley.

While strumming an acoustic guitar, Green can be heard delivering the first verse of the breakup ballad with his signature Alabama twang on full display.
“I’ve been doin’ better, I hardly ever think of you lately/ It ain’t all sunshine/ When you cross my mind, I start missin’ you like crazy/ I try to numb the pain, but there ain’t no damn way/ I end up in that place and I’m just one whiskey away,” he sings.
After Green sings the first chorus, Cooke’s beautiful vocals join in, harmonizing on the second verse. Together, they create a spine-tingling chorus before Cooke delivers a breathtaking rendition of the final verse, singing, “Well, I don’t mind if you do/ Drink a little too much and show up at my house/ It’d be nice to hear the truth/ Is it killing you not holding me right now?/ If falling into me is the only thing you think/ Is gonna get you through/ Then I don’t mind if you do/ I don’t mind…”
In a video captured by a concert attendee, fans can be seen holding their phones up with hopes to capture the unexpected duet on video.
This surprise duet took place at the New Country Closeup concert, which also featured performances by Thomas Rhett and Russell Dickerson.
It’s not the first time another female country artist has filled in for Langley. Last month, Megan Moroney lended her vocals to the song at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL as part of Audacy’s Stars and Strings country concert.
“Don’t Mind If I Do” was written solely by Green and appears as track number 17 on his newest album. The project also features fan-favorites like “Jesus Saves,” “Worst Way,” “Change My Mind,” “Rather Be,” and more.
This marked Ashley Cooke’s final concert for 2024, according to her official website.
Meanwhile, Green has just three shows left on the books for the year, including an appearance in Las Vegas on December 8, a show in Denver on December 9. He’ll ring in 2025 with a concert at the Choctaw Grand Theater with Ella Langley on December 31 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Both artists have packed schedules in 2025, with Ashley Cooke headlining the Your Place Tour with special guest Greylan James, and Riley Green headlining his Damn Country Music Tour.
