Country superstar Tanya Tucker has been forced to cancel her concerts for the rest of July after she underwent emergency hip surgery due to a fracture.
In a statement posted to social media, Tucker wrote to her fans, “Hey loves. My hip has been giving me hell for a while now and the docs discovered a hip fracture. I had to have surgery right away.”
“The operation went well and I’m on track for a speedy recovery,” she added. “I’ll be at home healing for a few weeks. But can’t wait to get back out and see you as soon as I can. I love y’all and a bad hip can’t keep me down.”
Tucker canceled her appearances at two festivals – Country Thunder Wisconsin, which was scheduled for Friday, July 16; and Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua, set for Saturday, July 17. She also rescheduled a July 31 show at Hinton, Oklahoma’s Sugar Creek Casino for December 10.
Big Top Chautauqua festival organizers also announced that the singer will no longer be able to perform at the event.
“It is with a heavy heart we announce Tanya Tucker’s show for this Saturday, July 17, 2021 has been canceled,” the statement read. “Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We are in the process of working with her team to reschedule the performance for a later date.”
