Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney was charged with driving under the influence in Williamson County, Tennessee, on Thursday, September 9.
According to reports, Rooney was arrested at about 4 am local time after crashing his vehicle into a tree on the 1200 block of Hillsboro Road, near Fieldstone Park, which is located just north of Franklin, Tennessee.
Rooney was booked into the Williamson County Jail around 7:20 am local time and released on $2,500 bond, according to People magazine. Page Six reports Rooney was uninjured, but the band has not commented further.
Rascal Flatts, which was founded by Rooney with second cousins Jay DeMarcus and Gary LeVox in 1999, had announced plans to split up last year. However, the band’s farewell tour has been indefinitely postponed by the coronavirus pandemic.
