At 12:45pm CT on Thursday, December 12, country superstar Morgan Wallen appeared in person at Tennessee’s Davidson County Circuit Court, where he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon. This charge was reduced from the three Class E felonies he was originally charged with back in April of this year after allegedly throwing a chair off Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s.

According to a new statement from Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson IV, Worrick Robinson Law, PLLC, the “Last Night” singer entered a plea agreement with the Office of the District Attorney that requires him to spend seven days in a DUI education center and pay a $350 fine and court fees. Additionally, he will be on supervised probation for two years. If he is able to successfully complete his probation term, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and removal from his public record.

Robinson adds, “Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”

Morgan Wallen was originally set to appear in front of a Grand Jury in early 2025, but earlier this week it was reported that the case had been moved from the general sessions court to the Circuit Criminal Court. Today, Wallen stood beside his attorney in front of Judge Cynthia Chappell and accepted the plea.

According to an arrest report obtained by News Channel 5 Nashville, at around 10:53 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, the country singer was said to have thrown a chair off the rooftop of the establishment, which landed about “three feet” away from two Metro Nashville police officers who were standing on the street in front of Chief’s.

When the officers went inside the business to investigate further, the staff members of Chief’s reportedly told them that the 30-year-old country star was responsible for throwing the chair from the rooftop of the sixth story of the building.

The officers were then granted access to a video that showed Wallen “lunging and throwing an object off the roof,” per the affidavit. Witnesses who were allegedly in eyesight of Wallen at the bar told police that they saw him “pick up the chair, throw it over him, laughing afterward,” the affidavit continues.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, Wallen was arrested for three counts of reckless endangerment for the two officers who were standing below the bar, as well as the danger Wallen presented to the public.

Additionally, the arrest report stated that Wallen was also charged with disorderly conduct. Following his arrest, Wallen posted a $15,250 bond and was released the next morning.

The CMA Entertainer of the Year later took to social media to accept responsibility for the offense.

“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” he said in the post to X, formerly known as Twitter. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”

Morgan Wallen recently wrapped up his massive One Night At A Time World Tour and gave fans an update on what’s to come in 2025. In a new video shared exclusively with his listeners who attended at least one date of his latest trek, the Tennessee native revealed that he’s “working” on new music. While this is certainty an exciting teaser, it’s still unclear what his touring plans are for the new year as he currently only has one performance on the books – the inaugural Sand in My Boots Festival in May.

“I’m taking a little bit of time for myself but I’m working also, and I can’t wait to get back out there and see y’all at some point next year. Appreciate it,” he shared.
