A documentary about the making of Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram and Jon Randall‘s 15-track album The Marfa Tapes will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on January 20.
The Grammy-nominated The Marfa Tapes was recorded during a five-day writing and recording session in the tiny desert town of Marfa, Texas.
The Spencer Peeples-directed documentary features interviews, the three singer-songwriters playing guitar around a campfire, and other behind-the-scenes footage captured during the recording sessions.
“It’s scary. It’s risky. It’s very, very vulnerable,” Lambert says in a trailer for the docufilm. “To not have any fixes, to not have any production. To just let the wind blow, and the birds, and the cows, and kinda let it be. I feel like we’re taking people on a really raw and intimate journey.”
Released in May 2021, The Marfa Tapes topped the country and folk charts.
