Maren Morris has hinted that her next album is on the way. “I’m kinda like halfway there,” she told the media on the sidelines of the 2021 ACM Awards ceremony.
“I think the bulk of the songs are in. It’s just about the recording. This is the first time I’ve been off the road to make a record in a very long time, so I’m savoring that and not rushing it,” the country music star said about her third album, a follow-up to 2019’s Girl.
Morris described the new album as “a really uplifting record.” “I think I’m in a much lighter place in my life, even though we’re coming out of a pandemic. I think that I’ve written the most just intimate songs,” she added.
Morris won the Song of the Year award for “The Bones,” the smash hit single from Girl, and was adjudged Female Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards.
She also delivered a steamy performance of “Chasing After You” with husband Ryan Hurd Sunday night.
