Lee Brice is gearing up for his second annual You, Me and My Guitar Tour, a unique concert experience that welcomes fans into the country star’s world as he shares insights into his life, creative process, and the inspirations behind his critically acclaimed songs.
The trek will launch on January 30 in Wilkes-Barre, PA and continue across the country for a total of 16 dates. Each night, Brice will create an intimate setting unlike any other concert as he tackles the stage on his own and plays his various guitars that hold so many of his valuable memories. He admitted to Country Now that he had so much fun on last year’s trek, he’s eager to take the stage again in 2025 and continue sharing important moments from his journey as a singer, songwriter, husband and father.
“I wanted to elevate it from just a guy and a guitar on a stool in one spot playing songs and telling some stories. I wanted it to be something bigger and a little more put together,” he shared. “I’ve got a bunch of guitars on stage that all have a story and a bunch of different stations on the stage, and so I’m walking around and really I go through the story of my life and my musical life, and it’s just a night to where it’s even so quiet and intimate that I’m having conversations with people in the audience and we’re laughing and joking. It’s something so different.”
As someone who has spent many years on the road performing with a band, this opportunity to sit down and connect with his fans has been truly special for the South Carolina native.
“Being out there and connecting on that level is really fun, man. It’s something you just can’t get anywhere. It’s its own thing and it was one of my favorite musical experiences ever. So that’s why we’re doing it again,” he added.
Among the 15-20 guitars that will join him on this run, there are a few that could definitely tell some incredible stories if they could talk, including the one gifted to Brice by his musical hero, Garth Brooks, and another he received on his wedding day.
“If it’s on the stage it’ll be played. They’re up there for a reason. Everything from a ukulele to an electric Stratocaster or acoustic guitar or classical guitar or whatever. But they all have stories and reasons to be up there.”
Brice noted that no two shows will be the same on this tour. Some of the stories may be repeated, but they will never be told exactly the same as he is simply going into each night with the hopes of connecting with the room full of fans in front of him. He will do so by also discussing some of the stories behind his songs and offering a deeper look into the chapters that have gotten him to this point.
“This is two hours of just me and not just talking about how the songs were written. In fact, that’s the least of what I talk about. It’s more about the story of my life, where I was, what was going on and my career and my childhood and my adult daddy life and married life, I mean that kind of stuff. But also the songs that were kind of in the moments of those and the guitars that went along with it. So it’s just this big journey.”
In addition to planning for this trek, Brice is in the midst of working on his next set of music to be dished out in the new year. He most recently released “Single Bells,” a clever twist on a Christmas classic that celebrates anyone who might be without a partner this holiday season.
“I’m like, ‘man, they play so many Christmas songs. It’s got to be good.’ Well it was. It just has this sexy but real thing that obviously is a Christmas song, but man, there’s a real emotion in it,” he shared with excitement. “I tried to give it a little bit of a vintage thing like a Sinatra. I just wanted a classic Christmas sound to it. And so I’m excited about it. From the day they played it for me, I was like, let’s go. I recorded it right then.”
The tune was penned by Brice’s buddies David Tolliver and Matt Alderman and follows the two tracks he released earlier this year – “Drinkin’ Buddies” with Nate Smith and Hailey Whitters and “Summer of Us.” Each of these songs offer a sneak peek into all the new music he has in store for 2025.
Brice went on to say that he’s nearly finished with an entirely new record release and teased that he’s hopeful to have his next single out at the top of the year.
“We got a couple more of those gratuity tracks. We’ll get a couple more of those coming after ‘Single Bells,’ like in January, we’ll have a brand new single out, either late January or February.”
