The video for Lauren Alaina‘s “Getting Over Him,” the title track from her most recent album, sees Alaina and her collaborator Jon Pardi running away from the law after robbing a barbecue joint.
The visual, directed by Alexa and Stephen Kinigopoulos, shows Alaina and Pardi escaping down a back road in a sports car, with cops chasing them. Pardi is seen clad in a snakeskin blazer and shades, while Alaina is wearing leopard print tights, a cowboy hat and sports long red nails.
The duo are nabbed from their hideout spot in a country motel, but towards the end of the video, Alaina is seen driving away into the night.
“We were dive bar kissing/ Heartbreak fixing/ No strings, Saturday night/ Hot like a match, that burned out fast/ Forever wasn’t in our eyes/ You knew it, and I knew it/ And it was a damn good time/ My last call, first call, no falling/ Just my getting over him guy,” they sing on the chorus.
Alaina co-wrote “Getting Over Him” with Paul DiGiovanni and Emily Weisband.
Alaina said Pardi was the perfect pick for the collab. “I’ve done duets with other people for their projects, but I have never done any for my own,” she previously acknowledged. “I’ve got a duet with Pardi on his album, and then he loved this one. His energy is so amazing.”
