Ahead of the 55th Annual CMA Awards, the Country Music Association has announced early winners in two categories.
“Half of my hometown,” a collaboration featuring Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney, took home trophies in both CMA Musical Event of the Year and CMA Music Video of the Year categories.
“Half Of My Hometown” is the fourth single from Ballerini’s third studio album Kelsea. Ballerini co-wrote the song with Ross Copperman, Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally, and Jimmy Robbins.
The music video for the song was directed by Patrick Tracy, and produced by Ballerini, Ross Copperman and Jimmy Robbins.
The announcement took place live on ABC‘s “Good Morning America,” as the show took over Bridgestone Plaza in downtown Nashville, where Old Dominion performed their songs “Hotel Key” and “All I Know About Girls.”
The CMA Awards airs live tonight at 8 PM ET on ABC.
