Kane Brown co-hosted as well as performed on CBS‘ “A Home for the Holidays at the Grove” special on Sunday, December 5.

The country star performed the heartwarming track “For My Daughter” during the live adoption of a little girl.

“They say dads are supposed to shape you, in a way I guess mine did / I knew what I wouldn’t do if I ever had a kid / They say history repeats itself / Well, I guess that’s up to me / Yeah, I grew up without a dad / I’m gonna be the best one I can be,” Brown sings in the chorus.

Brown hosted and performed during the 23rd annual “A Home for the Holidays” special, which aired immediately following The National Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday evening.

Brown introduced the Rodriguez family as they adopted a young girl named Marjorie into their family.

Marjorie entered foster care as a child and by the time she was 5, she had lived in six different homes. After being subjected to neglect and abuse, Marjorie has now found a permanent home with Cline and Jerry Rodriguez’s family.
