Will Hillary Scott’s eldest daughter, Eisele Kaye, carry on the family’s musical legacy? It appears so!
Scott, of country supergroup Lady A, introduced fans to the musical talents of her 11 year old Daughter, Eisele Kaye, with the release of a new holiday original, “Hard To Wait For Christmas.” The heartwarming tune features the mother and daughter pair singing together, bringing the magic of the holiday season to life throughout the joyous tune.
Eisele Kaye not only lends her vocals to the song but also co-wrote it with her parents, Chris Tyrrell and Hillary Scott, making it even more meaningful.
The inspiration for the song came from a family discussion about advent calendars and the way the anticipation of Christmas is felt at any age.
“Hard To Wait For Christmas” captures the joy of the holiday season, from the magic of Santa to decorating cookies, while also highlighting the true meaning of Christmas.
On the chorus they sing, “It’s hard to wait for Christmas/ All the joy there is to share/ The cookies baking in the oven/ The sweetest smell that fill the air/ Let’s hold our hope/ And shine our light/ Before it’s Christmas Eve/ We know this season’s so much more than presents and a tree/ But honestly/ It’s hard to wait for Christmas.”
The release of the song was paired with an adorable visualizer featuring Hillary Scott and her husband, Chris Tyrrell, plus Eisele Kaye and her younger twin sisters, Emory and Betsy. The clip showcases behind-the-scenes moments from the song’s studio recording and their festive Christmas card photoshoot.
“We hope this song makes families smile and encourages them to laugh and have fun together as they wait patiently (or not!) for Christmas,” shares Scott. “My favorite line from the song is about how it feels better to give than to receive, and if we could say anything about the Christmas season, it is that we hope you have a giving heart. That’s what really makes Christmas special – the gift of your time to the people you love, and the gift of your generosity to those in need.”
“Hard To Wait For Christmas” was produced by Scott, Tyrrell and Ryan Gore and is filled with familiar sounds of the holiday season, making it an instant Christmas classic.
This isn’t the first time nine-time GRAMMY winner Hillary Scott has released music outside of Lady A. In 2016, she released the album Love Remains in collaboration with her family. The project featured Hillary Scott, her father, Lang Scott, her mom, Linda Davis and her younger sister, Rylee Scott. The album went on to take home the GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music album and the lead single, “Thy Will” was awarded the the title of Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance Song.
