Garth Brooks has said that he will reassess whether to proceed with his Stadium Tour after the next two shows amid a surge in Covid cases in the U.S.
“It breaks my heart to see city after city go on sale and then have to ask those sweet people and the venues to reschedule,” Brooks said in a statement. “We have a three-week window coming up where we, as a group, will assess the remainder of the stadium tour this year.”
He added, “It’s humbling to see people put this much faith in you as an artist, and it kills me to think I am letting them down.”
Brooks’ next two shows are scheduled to be held at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium on August 7 and at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 14.
Ticket sales for the September 4 show at Lumen Field, Seattle, have been frozen.
The remaining destinations on Brooks’ Stadium Tour are Cincinnati, Ohio (September 18); Charlotte, North Carolina (September 25); Baltimore, Maryland (October 2); and Boston, Massachusetts (October 9).
