Rising country star Gabby Barrett earned nine nominations at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, which makes her most-nominated country musician at the event.
Barrett has been nominated for Top Country Artist, Top Country Female Artist, Top Country Album, Top Country Song and five other categories, which also makes her the most-nominated woman at the awards show. Barrett also earned all-genre nominations, including Top New Artist and Top Hot 100 song.
Dick Clark Productions announced the finalists on Thursday, April 29, for the ceremony that will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23.
The Weeknd earned most nominations with 16 categories, followed by DaBaby with 11 and late rapper Pop Smoke with 10.
Meanwhile, Morgan Wallen has earned nominations in five categories at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, driven by the blockbuster success of his second studio album, Dangerous: The Double Album, which spent 10 weeks atop the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
However, Wallen will not appear on the Billboard Music Awards broadcast due to his recent controversy regarding using N-word with friends.
“His recent conduct does not align with our core values,” dick clark productions says in a statement.
