Country crooner Chris Stapleton has put his own spin on the Metallica classic “Nothing Else Matters.”
The 43-year-old singer-songwriter released his cover of the song on Thursday, August 12. The song will be included in the forthcoming record, The Metallica Blacklist, a Metallica cover compilation featuring over 50 artists, being released in honor of the 30th anniversary of the band’s self-titled 1991 debut album.
The album will also include a cover of the same song by pop singer, Miley Cyrus, along with Elton John, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Watt and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.
Slated to be released on September 10, all the proceeds from the record will benefit Metallica’s nonprofit, All Within My Hands, and a host of charity organisations handpicked by the artists featured on the album, including Stapleton and wife Morgane’s fund, Outlaw State of Kind.
