“Hallelujah,” featuring Carrie Underwood and John Legend, won the coveted Video of the Year award at the 2021 CMT Music Awards.
The winner was announced after final voting by fans via social media and announced as the final category during the live show on Wednesday.
Kane Brown‘s “Worldwide Beautiful,” Keith Urban with P!nk‘s “One Too Many” and Kelsea Ballerini‘s “hole in the bottle” were the other top nominees in the video of the year category this year.
The victory marks Carrie Underwood’s ninth win in this category at the CMT Music Awards.
This is the first time a collaboration video and a Black artist have won this award.
Gabby Barrett won the female video of the year award for “The Good Ones.”
Other winners invlude Brown’s “Worship You” for Male Video of the Year; Little Big Town, duo/group of the year for “Wine, Beer, Whiskey;” Dylan Scott‘s “Nobody” for Breakthrough Video of the Year; and Ballerini and Halsey, CMT performance of the year for “The Other Girl.”
