Carly Pearce joined forces with fellow GRAMMY award winner Michael Bublé for a brand new holiday duet, “Maybe This Christmas.”

This marks the very first collaboration between the artists and came to fruition after they met on the set of The Voice when Pearce appeared as the Playoff Mentor to Team Bublé.

While offering valuable advice to members of Team Bublé, Pearce and Bublé made an instant connection and decided to collaborate. The result is a Christmas original that captures the bittersweet emotions that sometimes come with the holidays.

The opening verse finds Bublé yearning for time with his friends on a cold winter’s night.

“I’ve been running all my life/ I’ve been trying to get it right/ Sentimentally, the thing I do well/ But it’s Christmas time again/ And I’m missing all my friends/ Million miles away, a toast to their health/ Now it’s a shot out in the dark/ I’m just wishing on a star/ And I wish I knew just what to do/ Lord I think I need your light/ On this cold and silent night/ I’m just hanging on, it’s all that I can do,” he sings.

Pearce chimes in on the second verse, offering a complementary perspective as she expresses empathy for those who are facing feelings of loneliness during the holiday season.

She sings, “You’ve been running through my mind/ No matter how I try/ When the bells on Saint Pat’s start to ring/ And it’s so hard for me to hear/ You’re alone this time of year/ And the bitterness that that cold must ring/ And you’rе sitting in the dark/ And it’s falling all apart/ I’ll be lighting up a candle for you/ I know it’s sad to bе alone/ I wish you joy and peace and hope/ Wish you all the love that your heart can hold.”

Together, they harmonize on the chorus, delivering a hopefully message about never having to spend Christmas in solitude.

On release day, Pearce shared her excitement over the track on social media, admitting that she was thrilled to record a song with him as she has been a fan of his for many years.

“I have been a fan of @michaelbuble for such a long time, so I was SO excited when he called and asked me to be on this song with him. I don’t listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but for Michael Buble and this moment I’ll make an exception :),” she shared.
