BTS, Megan Thee Stallion and Taylor Swift were among the big winners at the 2021 American Music Awards.

The South Korean boy band won awards in all three of their nominated categories this year, including best pop group for the third consecutive year. They also won artist of the year award, while their chart-topping dance anthem, “Butter,” won best pop song.

Swift was selected as favorite female pop artist for the sixth time. The singer-songwriter’s ninth studio album Evermore also won the award for favorite pop album, giving Swift a record fourth win. As a result, Swift extended her lead as the artist with the most AMAs wins to 34.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion won three awards – favorite female hip-hop artist, favorite trending song (“Body”), and favorite hip-hop album (Good News).

Teenage music sensation Olivia Rodrigo was picked as new artist of the year, while Ed Sheeran won favorite male pop artist.

The American Music Awards winners were chosen entirely by fans’ votes.

Other award winners include Lil Nas X “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” – Favorite Music Video, Doja Cat ft. SZA (Kiss Me More) – Collaboration of the Year, Luke Bryan – Favorite Male Country Artist, and Carrie Underwood – Favorite Female Country Artist.
