Country star Brett Young surprised one of his young fans on Wednesday morning, February 16, by meeting her in person.
10-year-old Abbie Simmons from Lithia, Florida, received one of her best birthday gifts when her favorite country star stopped by to have some fun at her “Pajamas and Pancakes” breakfast before school.
Just weeks before the visit, Simmons had written a letter to Young inviting him to her 10th birthday party. However, Young received the the invitation too late and couldn’t make it to the party. Her mom and her friend, Lindsay, purchased a life-sized cutout of Brett for the party to make it up for his absence.
Later, Young’s team reached out to Lindsay to make a belated birthday appearance. So, Abbie’s mom and Lindsay came up with a “Pajamas and Pancakes”-themed party for Wednesday morning. Abbie was actually expecting a Zoom call from Brett, but she got the surprise of her lifetime when he visited her personally.
“He walked in, and I didn’t even believe that he was there,” Abbie told FOX 13. “I was speechless and didn’t know what to do.”
“We got your letter, but we got it too late. I hope it’s OK that we came to this part of the party. Is that all right?” said Young after the performance of Abbie’s favorite song. “Yeah.”
