Billy Strings‘ just-released sixth studio album, Highway Prayers, has claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. This is the first time a bluegrass album has topped the charts since 2002, when the Album of the Year Grammy Award-winning O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack reached No. 1. Highway Prayers was released on September 27th on Reprise Records, and it moved 19,000 units in its first week, the biggest sales week of Strings’ career. In addition to topping the Top Album Sales and Bluegrass charts, Highway Prayers is currently sitting at No. 8 on the Top Country Albums chart, at No. 6 on Americana/Folk Albums, and at No. 22 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Strings will join Luke Combs, Eric Church, and James Taylor for the just-announced Concert For Carolina benefit show on October 26, before hitting the road for his US headlining tour that extends into 2025.
